Information for passengers
Please note the regulations concerning your stay at the airport and flight.
A camera in one hand, a flight plan in the other – that's how so-called plane spotters and lots of aviation fans wander around at the airport, especially at the weekends and whenever special events are taking place. The Airbus A380, the Antonov, one of the largest freight planes in the world, or vintage planes like "Aunt Ju", ensure that spots at the airport perimeter fence and the free observation deck are well attended.
The spot where aviation fans enjoy the best view depends, among other things, on the position of the sun and visibility. The plane spotting communities at Stuttgart Airport have compiled an overview of the terrain and the best vantage points.Aviation Community Stuttgart Stuttgart Aviation Association

The Aviation Community Stuttgart is an association of people interested in aviation. They are mainly plane spotters, but some members are also frequent flyers and people who have careers in aviation. Pictures and news about aviation events in and around Stuttgart are posted on the STR-Forum every day.
The SAA was founded in 1996 by aviation enthusiasts from the Stuttgart region and has about 50 members. The club members are mainly plane spotters who travel, film, and take photographs and who like to share their experiences with other interested people. One of their focal points of interest is the history of Stuttgart Airport.
