No aircraft can take off or land without the airport fire department. The emergency services can reach any point on the airport premises within just 120 seconds.

Central location for rapid deployment

The fire station at Stuttgart Airport has been at its current location since 1995 - directly opposite the tower and roughly in the middle of the runway. From there, the emergency services can reach every corner of the extensive airport grounds in the shortest possible time.

The airport fire department's fleet of vehicles is versatile - from compact emergency vehicles and turntable ladders to fire engines weighing several tons. Rescue vehicles are also part of the fleet.
