STR – your airport in Baden-Württemberg

Stuttgart Airport has been a key transport hub for Baden-Württemberg for over 100 years – with an impact extending beyond the state’s borders. Its history stretches from the first flights at Cannstatter Wasen, through the Böblingen airfield from 1924 onwards, to today’s international airport in the Fildern region.

Our mission: to make Baden-Württemberg accessible worldwide. After all, a modern society needs an efficient airport. More than 19 million people live in Stuttgart Airport’s catchment area. In one of Europe’s leading economic regions, the airport provides connections to European hubs and many other destinations.

Direct connections within Europe: The airport’s route network is focused on Europe and offers direct connections to numerous major cities and international hubs. The STR site is centrally located within the Baden-Württemberg metropolitan area, spanning the municipalities of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Filderstadt, Ostfildern, Neuhausen and Stuttgart.
