The STR - your airport in Baden-Württemberg

Stuttgart Airport has been a central mobility location for Baden-Württemberg for over 100 years - with an impact beyond the state's borders. Its history ranges from the first flight operations on the Cannstatter Wasen, to the Böblingen airfield from 1924, to today's international airport on the Fildern.

Our mission: to make Baden-Württemberg accessible worldwide. Because a modern society needs an efficient airport. More than 19 million people live in the catchment area of Stuttgart Airport. In one of Europe's leading economic areas, the airport provides connections to European hubs and many other destinations.

Direct connections within Europe: The airport's route network is geared towards Europe and offers direct connections to numerous major cities and international hubs. STR is centrally located in the Baden-Württemberg conurbation, spread over the districts of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Filderstadt, Ostfildern, Neuhausen and Stuttgart. More than 19 million people live in the catchment area.

Around 300 companies and authorities ensure that everything runs smoothly at Stuttgart Airport every day. They take care of security checks, check-in, catering and stores and keep operations at the airport running.

The central task of Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH is to ensure the functionality of the airport. The area of responsibility is divided into 2 areas: Aviation and Non-Aviation.
