Employee health and safety

A high level of employee health and safety is guaranteed for all activities.

E-mobility

All passenger buses at Stuttgart Airport are fully electric. The airport’s baggage fleet also consists entirely of electric vehicles.

Groundpower

Currently, 75% of aircraft parking stands for passenger traffic are equipped with underground ground power units, helping to reduce the use of auxiliary power units and mobile diesel-powered generators while aircraft are parked.

Aircraft noise protection

To protect residents and employees, the airport company always keeps an eye on the noise level - and works on it as best it can with charges, noise protection and new technology.

Solar energy

At Stuttgart Airport, environmentally friendly solar power is produced on an area of 15,000 m².

Donate your bottle deposit

In 1961, a Lufthansa Boeing 707 lands for the first time on the runway, which has been extended to 2,250 metres.

Delta started flying from Stuttgart. Using a Lockheed L-1011 TriStar, the airline started flying to Atlanta via Amsterdam from 1986 onwards.
