How filming and photography work at Stuttgart Airport
Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH supports journalistic film and photo shoots – provided this is possible whilst operations are ongoing. Important: Please allow sufficient lead time; processing may take a little longer, particularly during school holidays.
To ensure everything runs smoothly, please note the following:

Journalistic purposes: Generally free of charge without specialised support
Where additional support is required: Costs as per the fee schedule (see below)
Non-journalistic recordings: Subject to a charge in all cases

The Corporate Communications department at Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH authorises editorial film and photography work. To do so, you must complete the form for editorial photography in full. Please email this to presse@stuttgart-airport.com in advance.
Checklist for journalistic enquiries:
Complete the form in full
Provide the mobile number of the on-site contact person
Have your press card to hand
Bring identification documents for all team members
If filming in a security zone, allow time for the security check
A fee-based permit is required for commercial photography and film projects. Coordination is handled by the Airport Media department. Please send us the fully completed form for commercial filming well in advance.
Important: Additional authorisations are requiredfor promotional filming involving aircraft or within the security area – including authorisation from the relevant airline and the Federal Police.
Please submit your enquiry at least 5 working days before the planned filming date. For larger-scale projects or filming in sensitive areas, we recommend contacting us well in advance – particularly during holiday periods or where there is a greater need for coordination.
Am I allowed to film with drones?
No – for safety reasons, drone flights are strictly prohibited throughout the airport grounds. This also applies to flights for journalistic and commercial purposes. Further information
Can I take a photo on the spur of the moment with my mobile?
Yes – taking private photographs with a mobile phone is generally permitted at Stuttgart Airport. Exceptions apply to security-sensitive areas such as passenger screening or other restricted-access zones. Photography is prohibited in these areas.
