Global Compact
Stuttgart Airport is part of the United Nations Global Compact - the world's largest initiative for responsible corporate governance. The airport is thus clearly committed to the 10 principles in the areas of the environment, human rights, labor and social standards and anti-corruption. Progress in these four areas is reported transparently every year. Business partners are also expected to comply with these principles.

EMAS environmental seal
Stuttgart Airport has held the EMAS (Eco Management and Audit Scheme) environmental seal since 2013. With this audited environmental management system, Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH and its subsidiaries Flughafen Stuttgart Energie GmbH and Stuttgart Airport Ground Handling GmbH are continuously improving their environmental performance. Clear targets are defined and regular reports are provided on activities and progress.

Success factor family
As a member of the corporate network Success Factor Family, Stuttgart Airport reaffirms its commitment to family-conscious corporate management. Success Factor Family is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce. The aim is to make family-friendliness a trademark of the German economy.

Airport Carbon Accreditation
With structured environmental management and modern technologies, Stuttgart Airport is making a targeted effort to reduce COâ‚‚ emissions on the ground and in the air. The optimization level was achieved in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) - a climate protection initiative of the European airport association ACI Europe. The program evaluates the COâ‚‚ management of airports in six successive stages: Mapping, Reduction, Optimization, Neutrality, Transformation and Transition.

THE aerospace LÄND
With THE aerospace LÄND, Baden-Württemberg, together with partners from science and industry - including Stuttgart Airport - has embarked on a clear sustainability course in the aerospace industry. The economic region is one of the leading aerospace locations in Germany and boasts an excellent research infrastructure and highly specialized equipment suppliers. A central goal of the network is to advance the future market for more climate-friendly flying.

Sustainable travel destination
Stuttgart Airport is a partner of the Sustainable Destination Stuttgart Region and supports the joint efforts for more sustainability and environmental protection in tourism. The certification considers the entire destination and includes all tourism providers.

Climate Alliance Baden-Württemberg
Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH is part of the Baden-Württemberg Climate Alliance and has entered into a partnership with the state for committed climate protection. The state airport was one of the first companies to join this alliance. In a joint agreement, the state and the airport have agreed to support each other in achieving their CO₂ reduction targets. In the agreement, Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH undertakes to continuously reduce the emissions caused by airport operations - all the way to CO₂ neutrality.

DGNB e.V.
As an important infrastructure company and real estate location in the region, Stuttgart Airport has been a member of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB e. V.) since 2012. Sustainability is also a priority in construction projects. In addition to technical and economic factors, ecological and socio-cultural aspects are taken into account - such as the selection of building materials, user-friendliness, transport links and accessibility.

Sustainability business initiative
Stuttgart Airport supports the Sustainable Business Initiative (KLIMAWIN) of the state of Baden-Württemberg. As a signatory, the airport voluntarily undertakes to comply with the 12 guiding principles of the KLIMAWIN Charter.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
Stuttgart Airport is a member of Sunflower Hidden Disabilities. The program supports people with invisible disabilities and helps to make their stay at the airport more pleasant.
Public Corporate Governance Code
Corporate governance and compliance characterize daily activities at Stuttgart Airport. Responsible corporate management - as described in the recommendations of the Public Corporate Governance Code of Baden-Württemberg (PCGK) - and compliance with laws, rules and principles of conduct are a central component of the fairport strategy. The Code summarizes important provisions of applicable law for the management and supervision of companies.
