Globally connected yet firmly rooted in the heart of Baden-Württemberg: Stuttgart Airport is committed to its home region and aims to be a good neighbour as a fairport . Through our social commitment, we are dedicated to the common good and good relations with others.
The interests of the surrounding community are always taken into account in deliberations and decisions. Openness and transparent communication are key here. Regular and comprehensible information is provided about our own actions. We maintain open and ongoing dialogue with our neighbours, customers, business partners, authorities and other stakeholders.
People are at the heart of fairport’s mission statement. The aim is to create tangible added value for employees, people in the region and passengers. An important aspect of this is the barrier-free design of the website – so that all content and services are easily accessible. The various offers for air travellers with reduced mobility also play a central role. Both are important steps on the way to an airport for everyone.
The website will be continuously updated. We welcome any suggestions regarding accessible design:
A real fairport success story: since 2013, the Donate your deposit initiative has been an integral part of Stuttgart Airport’s terminal – and continues to enjoy great popularity. Stuttgart Airport is the first German airport to team up with the street newspaper Trott-war e. V. to encourage passengers to donate empty deposit bottles for a good cause. The idea has now been adopted by other airports.
The deposit donations at Stuttgart Airport enable several permanent jobs for people with difficult living conditions. The project was initiated by the student organisation Enactus at the University of Hohenheim and is supported by Der Grüne Punkt.
The airport pastoral care service is a joint initiative of the Protestant Regional Church in Württemberg and the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart. A deacon, a deaconess and numerous volunteers are present in the terminal – for anyone seeking support in difficult times. Whether you are a passenger, visitor or employee at the airport, if you need someone to talk to, you will find a sympathetic ear here.
A special place is the Room of Silence in Terminal 3. It is open to people of all faiths – as a place of retreat, to pause for a moment or for personal prayer.
Flying has a negative impact on the climate – that is well known. Stuttgart Airport is open about this responsibility. Since 2024, a campaign in the terminals has been providing information on ways to reduce or offset emissions. This includes, among other things, offsetting unavoidable flights.
The aim is to raise awareness among passengers about climate-conscious travel and to highlight specific options for action.
As part of the region, Stuttgart Airport is actively involved in the immediate surrounding area. In popular sports, Stuttgart Airport is particularly committed to children’s and youth teams in the communities surrounding the airport. Support is provided both to the teams themselves and to local club events.
The goal: Strengthen community and enable young people to exercise and bond.
