Tasks at STR

Around 1,300 vehicles are in use at Stuttgart Airport - including special vehicles such as snow blowers, fire engines and aircraft tractors. The training involves working on a wide variety of vehicle types, including motorcycles and classic cars.

The tasks include

  • Repairing, maintaining and inspecting the vehicle fleet
  • Testing and assessing functions and systems
  • Fault analysis and rectification using modern diagnostic technology

In addition, the training company "StopOver" offers the opportunity to service vehicles of different brands as well as employee vehicles.

Training content

  • Basic manual skills in metalworking: filing, turning, milling, drilling, welding
  • General education lessons: German, social studies, economics
  • Specialist knowledge of engine and cooling systems, vehicle maintenance and engine testing, vehicle electrics, quality management, bodywork, chassis and wheel alignment, clutches and gearboxes, special equipment with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, PLC controls
