Wine Festival „Stuttgarter Weindorf“
Vineyards shape Stuttgart’s cityscape, reaching right into the center. It’s the only major German city with its own municipal winery – and a true haven for wine lovers.
Each year, the Stuttgart Wine Village celebrates this tradition. Around 30 hosts serve over 500 regional wines in beautifully decorated stalls across Marktplatz, Schillerplatz and Kirchstraße.
Guests can enjoy everything from Trollinger to Riesling, paired with Swabian specialties like Kässpätzle, Maultaschen, and Schupfnudeln. Young winemakers also showcase Stuttgart’s vibrant wine scene.
It is only 25 minutes by car or public transport from the airport.

Wasen – Stuttgart’s Big Festival
With traditional carousels, thrilling rides, and lively beer tents, the Wasen - Cannstatter Volksfest is Baden-Württemberg’s largest festival, drawing around 4.3 million visitors each year.
Held on the Cannstatter Wasen fairgrounds by the Neckar River, the event offers fun for all ages – from nostalgic attractions to roller coasters like the Wilde Maus and the sky-high Höhenflug.
Founded in 1818 by King Wilhelm I as a harvest celebration, the festival has grown into a vibrant mix of tradition, adrenaline, and community.
Visitors enjoy Swabian food, festive vibes, and entertainment from passionate showmen and vendors. It’s a true celebration of Stuttgart’s spirit.

Stuttgart Christmas Market
This year's Advent season once again sees the Stuttgart Christmas Market, which impresses millions of visitors year after year with its magical and impressive settings.
With over 200 different stalls, you'll find everything you need for a sensuous Christmas season, from biscuits and mulled wine to unique, handmade goods. On Schlossplatz in the city centre, you will also find Königstraße in the immediate vicinity. You can also shop on this popular shopping street - you are guaranteed to find something there.
It is only 25 minutes by car or S-Bahn from the airport.

Esslingen Medieval and Christmas Market
Just before the first Sunday of Advent, Esslingen comes alive with a magical mix of 200 stalls and 500 cultural events. At the Medieval Market, visitors can explore traditional crafts, taste unique foods, and enjoy music in a setting of historic half-timbered houses. Kids can join fun hands-on activities.
Running alongside, the Christmas Market features over 80 stalls offering festive treats, handmade gifts, and classic decorations. A nostalgic carousel and candle workshop add to the charm.
Only 25 minutes by car from the airport, bus line 122 takes you to Esslingen in around 40 minutes.

Ludwigsburg Christmas Market
Ludwigsburg, the city of baroque. This year, the unique Baroque Christmas Market will once again take place on the market square of the Ludwigsburg Residence Palace. Surrounded by the royal backdrop, you can find delicious delicacies and many unique goods and gift ideas from more than 140 exhibitors.
In addition to the Christmas market, a dreamy stroll through the fairytale garden and the winter-decorated palace garden is also recommended.
You can also explore the Residenzschloss on a guided tour and learn all the secrets of the castle.
