Access and opening hours

Access to the Smart Lane checkpoint is located in Terminal 2, Departures. All gates are easily accessible from there.

The Smart Lane is open daily from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Good to know

Access to the Smart Lane is only valid for the 15 minutes booked.
Bookings for Schengen flights can be made up to 60 minutes before departure - at the earliest 48 hours before departure.
For non-Schengen flights with passport control, bookings can be made up to 90 minutes before departure.
Flight number, name and e-mail address are required for the booking.
Reservations can be made for up to 5 people at the same time.

Bookings can only be made using the form on this page.
Changes or cancellations are possible via the link in the confirmation email.
The security checkpoints in the other terminals can be used at any time despite the booked period.
Important: Despite the Smart Lane, please allow sufficient time for check-in and baggage drop-off before the security check.
When booking a time slot marked in green, a coupon for the catering area is included in the booking.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I not shown a suitable time slot for my flight?

We can only offer a limited number of time slots. If no free time slots are displayed, they are all already taken. In this case, the regular security checkpoints in Terminals 1, 2, 3 or 4 are available.

What happens if I miss the time slot?

Access to the Smart Lane is only possible during the selected 15 minutes. Access cannot be guaranteed outside this time slot. If you arrive earlier or later, please use the regular checkpoints in Terminal 1, 2, 3 or 4. If there is still enough time before departure, you can also book a new time slot.

What is the last time to use the Smart Lane?

The last bookable time slot is 1 hour before the scheduled departure. Later time slots or later access to the Smart Lane are not possible.

Can I change or cancel the booked period?

Yes, the e-mail with the booking confirmation contains a link that can be used to change or cancel the time slot.

How can I book a time slot for several passengers?

One person can only book a time slot for a maximum of 5 travellers. For more than 5 people, a further booking must be made in the name of another person travelling.

Is it possible to get through this checkpoint with a wheelchair, rollator or buggy?

The Smart Lane passageways are not suitable for buggies, walkers or wheelchairs as they do not fit through the airlock. In such cases, the manual boarding pass checkpoints at the regular security checkpoints can help - barrier-free access is possible there.

Can a child seat be taken along?

Yes, child seats - if permitted by the airline - are part of the authorised baggage.

Are suitable time slots already suggested for the specific flight?

Yes, the periods shown always refer to the specified flight.

When will I receive a voucher for the catering when I book the Smart Lane?

Time slots with a coupon for a hot drink are highlighted in green when booking. If no time slots with a coupon are displayed, no more coupons are available for this flight.

How can I use the catering voucher?

The catering voucher is valid for a hot drink of your choice at a price of €1.50. It can be redeemed during the test period until 17 May 2026 at Stuttgart Airport at MANFRED'S Snacks & Drinks and BARRY'S in Terminal 1 after the security check during the respective opening hours. The coupon can only be redeemed once for the persons entered in the booking, is non-transferable and cannot be combined with other discounts. The voucher must be presented legibly during the order process. Retroactive refunds and cash payments are not possible.
