Passport control
Arrive or depart well prepared

Arrival from Schengen countries
Anyone entering from a country that is part of the Schengen Agreement can enter without passport control.
Tip: We still recommend that you have your identity card or passport handy.
The Schengen countries include: Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czechia and Hungary.
Arrival from non-Schengen countries or countries outside Europe
If you are arriving from a non-European country or a non-Schengen country, please use the designated passport control counters – separate for EU citizens and travellers from other countries. You will then automatically proceed to baggage claim and customs control.
Good to know:
In Terminal 3, passengers can also go through passport control themselves using the automated border control system Easypass. To do so, they need an electronic passport from an EU country, the European Economic Area or Switzerland. Travellers from other countries can also register for this service.
More information is available on the Easypass website.
Departure
Important for travel to the USA and Great Britain
Citizens of countries participating in the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP) must apply for ESTA authorisation before entering the US.
If you are travelling to the UK you will need a valid passport. Since 2 April 2025, you will also need an electronic travel authorisation (ETA). It can be purchased via the ETA app or the British government website.
