A – Assortment of spreads
Whether sweet or savoury: cream cheese, peanut butter, honey, jam or liver sausage are considered liquids in air travel. They may therefore only be carried in carry-on baggage in containers with a maximum capacity of 100 millilitres – and must be placed in a 1-litre zip-lock bag. Enjoyment tip: Spreads that are already on bread can be carried in your carry-on baggage.
B - Baby food
Baby on board: If you are travelling with a baby, you may take the necessary amount of baby food with you, even if it exceeds the 100-millilitre limit. However, the amount should be appropriate for the duration of the trip.
B - Batteries
Energy! Batteries up to a certain size and power banks are permitted. Additional hazardous goods regulations apply here – especially for lithium-ion batteries. It is best to check the exact rules with the airline in advance.
C - Camembert
No cheese: Camembert and other soft cheeses are considered liquids and are only allowed in carry-on baggage up to 100 grams. More goes into the baggage.
Good to know: Hard cheese such as Parmesan is allowed in carry-on baggage.
C - Clothing
Clothing inspection: some items of clothing may be subject to additional inspection, such as shoes, belts or religious headwear.
C – Coronavirus tests
Health: rapid coronavirus tests are classified as medical devices. They may be carried in carry-on baggage and do not need to be transported in a 1-litre bag.
D - Deodorant
Fragrant: solid deodorants are permitted without restriction. Liquid or spray deodorants are subject to the 100-millilitre limit and must be placed in a zip-top bag.
D - Drinks
Drinks exceeding 100 millilitres are not permitted in carry-on baggage.
Tip: Empty water bottles or thermos flasks are permitted and can be refilled after security checks at the drinking water dispenser in Terminal 3 at Gate 337.
E - E-cigarette (vape)
Liquid smoke: e-cigarettes belong in your carry-on baggage. You may bring 2 rechargeable batteries with you. The 100-millilitre rule applies to liquids. If the e-cigarette is already filled, it must be placed in the 1-litre zip bag.
E - Electronic devices
Small gadgets: mobile phones, laptops, game consoles, electric toothbrushes, razors, hair dryers, hair straighteners and Bluetooth speakers are permitted in carry-on baggage, just like other electronic devices. Drones always belong in your carry-on baggage.
Note: Please place separately in the tray at the security checkpoint – this will speed up the process.
