Tasks at STR Airport firefighters take responsibility for safety at the airport - around the clock. The focus is on fast, competent and well-organized assistance.
Core tasks:
Prevention of fire and explosion hazards Rescue, extinguishing, recovery and protection Checking safety-relevant facilities, e.g. elevators Risk minimization measures together with the team Medical service: The plant fire department provides first aid - with the aim of minimizing harm to people in an emergency.

Administrative activities Professional training and further training Care and maintenance of equipment and vehicles
Training content The training is divided into two sections:
1st section - technical basics (18 months)
Metalworking, electrical engineering, woodworking Acquisition of the German Sports Badge Section 2 - firefighting qualifications
Basic fire department training and basic respiratory protection training Radiotelephony training and fire engine operator training Training as a paramedic and lifeguard Acquisition of class C/CE driving license
