Roles at STR

  • Power supply: Installation, servicing and maintenance of transformers in all major buildings on the airport campus – to ensure electricity is supplied at the correct voltage.
  • Airfieldlighting: Installation, control and maintenance of lighting on the runway and on adjacent buildings.
  • Building services: Professional cabling of terminals, workshops and administrative buildings – to ensure a reliable supply to all building services systems.

Course content

  • General education: German, social studies, ethics and other subjects
  • Fundamentals of electrical circuits and power supply
  • Advanced knowledge: low-voltage systems, independent power supply, metering, tariffs and billing, airport-specific specialised technology, power supply for aircraft, documentation systems, renewable energy systems (photovoltaics), charging of electric vehicles
  • Circuitry for building services
  • Contactor- and PLC-controlled system circuits
  • VDE regulations
  • Installation and maintenance of electrical systems
