Information for disabled persons

We take particular care to ensure that arrivals and departures are kept as smooth and simple as possible for our disabled guests. The following information is provided to facilitate travel planning for you as a disabled passenger.

Travel planning

Ensure that you inform your travel agent or the airline with which you are flying in good time of the extent of assistance you require. They will provide you with further information on the assistance provided. Your airline with make the necessary arrangements and organise any assistance required at the airport. Persons collecting disabled passengers can meet their guests or dependents directly at the baggage carousel in the baggage reclamation area. Please use the telephone at the right-hand exit on Arrivals level (Level 2) for this purpose and request access from the customs officers.

Travelling to Stuttgart Airport

By car
You can reach the airport via the A 8 motorway (Autobahn Karlsruhe-Munich) or federal route B 27 (Bundesstraße). After the exit road for Stuttgart Airport, please follow the Arrivals or Departures signs. Rollimobil provides a special service with barrier-free hire vehicles for physically-challenged persons.

By municipal rail (S-Bahn)
The S-Bahn station at the airport has facilities for wheelchairs and blind persons. Lifts and ticket machines are also suitable for use by wheelchair occupants. Visitors will need to change wheelchairs when moving from the S-Bahn station level to the departures area in the terminals. An overview map with S-Bahn stations suitable for disabled persons can be ordered from the regional transport cooperative (Transport Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart - VVS), tel.: +49 711 19449. No charge is involved. This authority can also provide schedule details and information on travel and connection changes.

By train
When travelling via Stuttgart Central Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof), you can then take the municipal rail (S-Bahn) to the airport (route S2 or S3). The Railway Mission (Bahnhofsmission) will be happy to be of assistance: +49 711 292995. If you wish to continue your journey by train after arrival at the airport, you can obtain train and municipal rail (S-Bahn) tickets in the Deutsche Bahn AG Travel Centre (on the intermediate level above the S-Bahn station) from Monday to Friday. Parking at Stuttgart Airport

Parking Signs indicate disabled parking spaces in all airport car parks and parking blocks. The parking control system at Stuttgart Airport will direct you to free parking spaces. Please note the price differences for short-term and long-term parking: parking spaces marked with green are the least expensive. Disabled parking spaces are located in all parking blocks on the ground floor directly next to the entrance. Disabled vehicles and medical orderlies

A special service provided by Stuttgart Airport - disabled vehicles are available for travelling from the terminal to the aircraft or from the aircraft to the baggage reclamation area. Personnel from AGS Boarding Support (tel.: +49 711 948-4500) and medical orderlies are also available. Please make reservations when booking with your airline or travel Agent.

    Guide Dogs
    Guide and companion dogs are allowed in all terminals. Please ask the respective airline whether guide and companion dogs are allowed in the aircraft cabin.

    Customs / Baggage reclamation
    Visitors collecting passengers who wish to enter the baggage reclamation area must contact AGS (Airport Ground Service GmbH) in advance, telephone number +49 711 948-4500.

    Wheelchairs should be requested in advance when booking with a travel agent or airline. This service is free of charge. Further wheelchairs are also available at the counter or service-point in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 which can be used in return for a security deposit (identity card, driving licence, etc.).
